Traveling anywhere in the world with a gluten-free diet can be a challenge, but most especially in Paris where bread, bread and more bread is tempting you on every corner. Luckily, more and more Parisian culinary establishments are becoming aware of the needs of a gluten-free diet and are accommodating locals and tourists alike.

Maison Kayser, perhaps one of the best known bakeries in France, announced last week that they would be offering gluten-free bread and cookies as a test at their location on Rue de l’Echelle, in the 1er arrondissement. The bread and cookies are baked in a certified gluten-free zone and packaged in two sets of plastic wrap to eliminate risk of cross contamination. Plans are underway to offer gluten-free sandwiches in the very near future.
