A brightly-lit, dynamic work of art at the Champs-Elysées
On Thursday 21 November Laetitia Casta, a true ambassador of French elegance and refinement, will be switching on the Christmas lights on the Champs-Elysées. France’s first top-flight model to also have made it as an actress, Laetitia will be following in the footsteps of Diane Kruger and Audrey Tautou, who respectively played this role in 2012 and 2011.
The Champs-Elysées will become an artwork in its own right: three rings of different diameters will surround and light up each tree, at precise heights but without actually touching the trees. The illusion is perfect: they are suspended and ‘float’ around some 200 trees. This project, which was selected in 2011 for 4 years of Christmas lights on the Champs Elysées, is a creation by Koert Vermeulen and Marcos Vinals Bassols from Belgian firm ACT Lighting Design, in collaboration with ASP Blue Square.
